Jim Penta is taking a four-week French pastry class at the Cook Street School of Fine Cooking in downtown Denver. Yesterday, he brought home an Orange Citrus Roulade with Swiss Almond Meringue Butter Creme topped with almonds, coconut, and dark chocolate drizzle. The word Roulade originates from the French word “rouler” meaning “to roll”. This roulade consists of a sponge cake baked in a flat plan which is rolled around a creme filling.
I bet I gained weight just by feasting my eyes on his dessert when I photographed it! The real question is … Can I resist these delectable creations until he completes the course? Could you?
