Last night On The Rox band rocked the Waterton Tavern in Roxborough Park — Most of the members of this band live in Roxborough and the community supported them. There was standing room only. Classic Rock … Throbbing music … Dancing … Energy … If you missed it, you missed out. You can HEAR the tunes and FEEL their passion in these photos.
Ever been disappointed with the prints you received from your favorite discount store? Ever get photographs that just didn’t look the same as you remembered the real scene? Too dark? Too light? Funny colors? Weird skin tones? (Bet your answer is “yes”.) That is why Penta Photography does not trust our images to retail printers.
I have been meaning to do this for some time, but Erin Noie Photography beat me to it. She did a little experiment and ordered prints of the same image from Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and her professional lab. Here are the scanned results.
The first print is green, dull and flat. The bottom left print is too brown. The one next to it has a blue wall and orange skin tones. These are the results from studio images where the lighting is perfect. How much worse would these look if the portraits were captured outside where the light changes moment by moment? Would each print be a different color?
As a professional photographer, I must guarantee that our clients receive consistent, high quality photographs EVERY time they place an order with us. Our professional lab charges us more than retail printers and we are happy to pay for their expert printing services. We know that the job will be done right the first time and that our clients will be very satisfied with the final product.
Lots of folks these days think that if we give them the digital files, they can just order their own prints and save some money. Maybe that is OK for snapshots. But after seeing the results above, who do you want to trust for your special family portraits? Call Penta Photography today at 303.979.2269 to schedule an appointment. We photograph outdoors all year round, at your home, in our Littleton (Roxborough) studio, or any location that is special to you.

Recently, we had the privilege of photographing the work of a young artist, Isabella, who won a special award for her outstanding composition. Here is how Joan Moxon, her Art Teacher at Front Range Christian School, described Izzy’s passion for painting:
“Izzy has a true color sense and a joy in creating. One day, as she mixed color after color to get just what she wanted, she exclaimed that she was having the most fun ever! Surely this is the heart of an artist. A photo of Izzy’s Owl Painting will be framed and displayed at Front Range Christian School to honor her with our Picture Purchase Award for 2011. This is an award our school gives to students with outstanding art work for the year.”
